Hi, I'm Kristin👋 

Art teacher for 26 years,certified K-12 art teacher and holder of a Master of Arts in Teaching in Gifted and Equitable Instruction along with a certification in K-12 Art Education. 

Over the course of my 26 year career teaching elementary art in schools in the USA and across the globe, I’ve had the privilege of seeing the incredible impact of emphasizing creativity and student voice on children and their art.

For years, I was fascinated by Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) and choice-based art models, but I struggled with how to make it work in my own art teaching practice. Ten years ago, I took a tiny step towards a more choice-based approach and I can honestly say—it transformed the way I teach, and I’ll never go back.

The resources in the Princess Artypants membership are created by practicing art teachers to make implementing a more creative and child-centered approach to elementary art less overwhelming.
